Classroom Audio Visual Solutions

Earlier this year Hereford Sixth Form College commissioned SMARTeducation to supply and install 10 classrooms with audio visual solutions into their new buildings. Andrew Gray, IT Manager at the College describes the installations:

The Aim

Hereford Sixth Form is a growing college, and recently decided to expand its classroom, Design, and Music Tech areas with a new building. These demands required not only teaching areas, but also excellent audio visual and IT to complement them.

This is especially important as the quality of the IT directly affects many of the lessons - if the projection on the Interactive Whiteboard screen is unclear, so too will be the learning."

Procurement

"Hereford Sixth Form College provided a shortlist of suggested suppliers to the building contractors, who chose SMARTeducation. They were the best candidates for providing the audio visual solutions as they had previously provided a very good service at very short notice, when we needed a SMART Board installing in a temporary classroom, and also returned a very competitive quote."

Installation

"SMARTeducation were tasked by the building contractors to supply boards, projectors, and to do a full installation in a variety of rooms.

In all classrooms we had a ceiling mounted projector, and an interactive whiteboard, with wiring concealed in the walls, floors and ceilings.

Most communication was done directly through the builders, allowing the college IT Support team to continue with other tasks."

Use

"Our previous Music Tech area had a very old and poor quality Interactive Whiteboard - the Students and Teachers are delighted with their new SMART Board.
